Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday urged upon all the political parties to show unity against anti-Pakistan elements.
In a message posted on his Twitter handle while alluding to Peshawar terrorist attack, the premier wrote that his message to all political forces is one of unity against anti-Pakistan elements.
PM Shehbaz said that through their despicable actions, terrorists wanted to spread fear and paranoia among the masses and reverse the hard-earned gains against terrorism and militancy.
“We can fight our political fights later,” the prime minister said.
The message by PM Shehbaz comes a day after 96 people were martyred and over 220 were injured in a suicide attack in Peshawar Police Lines mosque on Monday.
According to security officials, the explosion occurred in the central hall of the mosque at 1 PM, causing the roof to come crashing down upon those who were offering Zuhr prayers at the time.
The security officials said the suicide attacker was present in the front row during the prayer when he exploded himself.
A police report issued after the attack, said the explosion occurred inside the main hall of a mosque — which has a capacity of 300 to 350 men — located in the Police Lines area.
The locality comprises headquarters of the Capital City Police, Frontier Reserve Police, Elite Police Force, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Telecommunication Branch, RRF and SCU etc, it stated.
