Washington (Reuters): President Donald Trump dismissed the acting head of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Monday, appointed by Obama´s administration, as he battled rising fallout over his controversial immigration orders.
Daniel Ragsdale dismissal was announced, without any reason, hardly an hour after Trump fired another Obama appointee, a top lawyer and acting attorney general Sally Yates, for breaking rank over the ban on travellers from seven Muslim-majority nations.
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said in a statement, Ragsdale´s replacement, Thomas Homan ensured that we enforce our immigration laws in the interior of the US consistent with the national interest.
