Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan on Wednesday voiced grave concern over the recent surge in violence in Yemen, reiterating its unwavering support for the country’s unity and territorial integrity, along with all initiatives aimed at fostering lasting peace and stability.
In a statement, the Foreign Office (FO) said that that Pakistan strongly opposes any unilateral actions by Yemeni parties that could intensify tensions, hinder ongoing peace efforts, or threaten the security and stability of Yemen and the wider region.
“Pakistan welcomes regional initiatives designed to ease tensions and promote stability in Yemen. The country reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and underscored its commitment to the security of the Kingdom,” the statement said.
“Pakistan maintains its firm support for the resolution of Yemen issue through dialogue and diplomacy and hopes that Yemen’s people and regional powers work together towards inclusive and enduring settlement of the issue, safeguarding regional stability,” the FO statement said.
