Quetta (Web Desk): Terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna Al-Khawarij launched a suicide attack near the Frontier Constabulary (FC) Headquarters on Hali Road in Quetta. The attack resulted in the deaths of 10 people and injuries to 32 others. Among the dead were six terrorists, including the suicide bomber.
The suicide attack was carried out using a white Suzuki van at the FC Headquarters located in the Model Town area on Hali Road, the provincial capital’s main road.
After the explosion, the terrorists who accompanied the suicide bomber attempted to enter the FC Headquarters. However, the FC forces responded promptly and killed all five remaining terrorists. During the clash, two FC personnel were injured.
Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar told Dawn News TV that the blast resulted in 10 fatalities, including 2 FC personnel, and 26 injuries. The injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital and Trauma Center for treatment. The Health Minister further added that they were collecting information about other injured persons in different hospitals.
He also stated that the FC Headquarters was the primary target of this terrorist act, but the FC personnel bravely confronted the attackers and killed all six terrorists involved in the incident.
Security sources confirmed that the attackers were disguised in FC uniforms, but all terrorists were eliminated.
According to police reports, the incident occurred near the FC Headquarters, and after the blast, intense firing also took place.
Footage emerging after the explosion shows large plumes of smoke rising from a distance.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Special Operations Quetta, Muhammad Baloch, said the explosion happened when a vehicle loaded with explosives turned from Model Town onto Hali Road near the Frontier Constabulary Headquarters.
