Scattered rain, thunderstorms expected across Pakistan

Islamabad (Web Desk):The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast continued monsoon activity across northern and central regions, with moist currents and a westerly wave bringing rain, thunderstorms, and isolated heavy falls over the next two days.

Islamabad, upper Punjab, KP, and Kashmir are expected to receive more rain, while most of Sindh and Balochistan will remain hot and dry. The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours was recorded in Sheikhupura (35mm), and temperatures soared to 44°C in Sibbi and Jacobabad.

Meanwhile, the search for Abdullah, a missing boy swept away by the Swat River, entered its fourth day. Rescue 1122 teams continue their operation, having recovered 12 bodies so far.

Authorities revealed rescue delays were caused by the unavailability of trained helicopter crew. In response, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is launching an air ambulance service and has begun removing illegal structures along the river.
