No compromise to be made on national security issues: info minister

Islamabad (Web Desk): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Tuesday said that no compromise will be made on national security issues.

Speaking to newspersons outside Parliament in Islamabad, he said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should be held accountable for its actions against national institutions and fake narrative that damaged country's foreign relations.

Terming the party as a political risk, the minister said the recent offer a dialogue by PTI leader is part of their conspiracy against state.

He said once again PTI wants to politicise national institutions for its political gain.

Calling PTI a terrorist party, he said this party always promoted chaos in the country. It attacked mausoleums of martyrs and national institutions during May 9 incidents.

“The presence of PTI's founder's sisters and his nephew in front of Jinnah House on May 9 shows his family was directly involved in those attacks,” he said.

Talking about country's economy, the minister said that the recent Fitch's rating validated our prudent economic policies that put the country on the path of progress and development. He said the interest rates are coming down while our foreign reserves are witnessing a sharp rise.

The information minister said that since the imprisonment of PTI's founder, country's stock exchange showing a constant boom which shows his presence is the major hindrance in the development.
