Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to keep relief initiatives in place for financially struggling segments of society, taking into account the current circumstances.
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the government will continue the subsidy on motorcycles, as well as on public transport and goods transportation services, for an additional month beyond the previously announced period.
The prime minister has directed relevant departments to make sure that there is no upward adjustment in passenger fares or freight rates, highlighting that citizens must be protected from any further economic strain.
He further stressed the importance of a strong and transparent monitoring system for these relief efforts so that assistance is properly delivered to those who are truly eligible.
PM Shehbaz also pointed out that the federal government, working alongside provincial administrations, has already rolled out a multi-billion-rupee national support package aimed at easing the burden on ordinary people during tough economic conditions.
Reaffirming his commitment, the prime minister stated that providing relief to the general public remains the government’s foremost responsibility, and assured that no effort will be spared in supporting citizens in difficult times.
He added an optimistic note, expressing hope that the regional situation will stabilize in the near future, which would also contribute to bringing petroleum product prices under control.
