Peshawar (Web Desk): Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, Chairman Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP), has said that Pakistan must revamp its governance model, guided by honesty and truth.
He was speaking at an awareness session, titled, "Pakistan 2030: Challenges, Imkanaat aur Nai Rahein" (Challenges, Possibilities and the Way Forward), organized by the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) at Rehman Medical Institute in Peshawar's Hayatabad on Wednesday.
Punjab Group Chairman Mian Amer Mahmood graced the event as chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, the APSUP chief underscored the pivotal role of the private sector in shaping Pakistan’s education and healthcare landscape.
Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman said that the day would be remembered in the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), acknowledging Punjab Group Chairman Mian Amer Mehmood’s remarkable contribution to the education sector through the establishment of more than 400 colleges and three leading universities across the country.
Highlighting the achievements of private sector, he noted that Pakistan Association of Private Medical & Dental Institutions (PAMI) produces over 11,000 medical graduates each year and provides affordable or free treatment through a network of 40,000 hospital beds.
Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman emphasized that Pakistan’s survival and progress owe much to private institutions, asserting that without their contribution, the nation’s situation would have been dire.
Calling for urgent reform, the APSUP chairman stated that Pakistan must revamp its governance model, guided by honesty and truth.
Chaudhry Abdul Rehman urged citizens to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as the ultimate example for personal and national success.
He lauded APSUP’s initiative in organizing the event and expressed hope that Rehman Medical Institute would one day hold a place in KP’s history similar to that of Aligarh University in South Asia’s educational movement.
Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman urged the youth to embrace change, work hard, and think constructively, remarking that Pakistan’s future rests on the vision and determination of its young generation.
