PSX remains bearish on first trading day of week, loses 1,156 points

Karachi (Web Desk): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) started the new trading week on a negative note, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index falling by 1,156 points to close at 178,414.

During the session, around 860 million shares were traded, with a total value of Rs43 billion. The market downturn reduced the PSX's overall market capitalization by Rs114 billion, bringing it down to Rs20.02 trillion.

It is worth noting that the KSE-100 Index had closed at 179,571 points at the end of last week's trading.

Meanwhile, in the interbank market, the US dollar weakened by Rs0.02 against the Pakistani rupee, closing at Rs278.18.

The dollar had settled at Rs278.20 in the interbank market on June 24.
