Islamabad (Web Desk): The Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Ahmad Ishaque Jahangir, has been relieved of his duties after concerns about his performance, according to an official notice from the Establishment Division.

This action follows dissatisfaction from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who had been expecting a comprehensive report on the tragic boat incident off the coast of Greece that claimed the lives of numerous Pakistani citizens.

According to the sources, the prime minister was annoyed over the slow progress in other important investigations.

Following his removal, Ahmad Jahangir has been made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD), as per the notification.

Meanwhile, Akhtar Hayat Gandapur has been removed from his position as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

His removal comes after criticism over his inability to control the rising security issues in the province.

Replacing Akhtar, Zulfiqar Hameed has been appointed as the new IG of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), tasked with restoring order and improving the security situation in the province.
