Mexico City (Web Desk): A tragic train accident in southern Mexico has claimed the lives of at least 13 people and left several others injured. The incident occurred on a railway line connecting the states of Oaxaca and Veracruz, prompting local authorities to declare an emergency situation in the area.

According to officials, at the time of the crash, the train was carrying 241 passengers along with 9 crew members. During the unexpected event, several carriages derailed and piled on top of each other, resulting in significant loss of life. As soon as the accident was reported, rescue teams, local police, and medical personnel rushed to the scene and began emergency operations.

Rescue teams worked swiftly to transfer the injured to nearby hospitals, while severely wounded individuals were provided with specialized medical care. Ambulances, fire brigades, and civil defense personnel also arrived at the site to assist in extricating trapped passengers. Some passengers are reported to be in critical condition, raising concerns that the death toll may rise.
