Lahore (Web Desk): Two new cases of Monkeypox have been confirmed in the city, raising concerns about the increasing spread of the virus. In the last 24 hours, two individuals have been diagnosed with Monkeypox.
Both patients, a 28-year-old named Shahid and a 35-year-old named Rubina, are currently under treatment at Mayo Hospital. Lab tests confirmed the presence of Monkeypox in both patients.
Neither of the patients has a travel history, which raises concerns about the virus being transmitted locally. The Specialized Health Department has yet to arrange proper isolation facilities for the Monkeypox patients.
The spread of Monkeypox within the city is becoming a significant concern, with the virus now being transmitted from one person to another in urban areas. This development marks a critical point in managing the outbreak, as local transmission increases.
