NCOC announces Eid-ul-Fitr holidays from May 10 to 15

Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has announced Eid-ul-Fitr holidays from May 10 to 15.

The NCOC, in a statement, also announced “stay home stay safe strategy” for mobility control from May 8 to 16 which included the Eid holidays.

The NCOC also banned Chandrat bazaars, including mehndi, jewellery/ornaments and clothing stalls.

The statement said that all markets, businesses and shops will remain closed except for essential services including grocery store, pharmacies, bakeries, vegetable, fruit, chicken and meat shops and petrol pumps.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 815,711 on Thursday after 5,480 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 281,385 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 298,818 in Punjab, 116,523 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 22,118 in Balochistan, 74,640 in Islamabad, 5,296 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 16,931 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government’s COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 17,680 with 151 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 708,193 after another 3,699 virus recoveries were reported.
