Islamabad (Web Desk): The government has appointed Syed Khurram Ali as the new Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), marking a key administrative reshuffle aimed at strengthening the country’s cyber law enforcement structure.
The Ministry of Interior has issued a formal notification confirming his appointment.
Syed Khurram Ali is a BS-21 officer of Police Services of Pakistan, presently posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), under Punjab Government.
As a seasoned law enforcement officer, Syed Khurram has previously served in several prominent districts, where he built a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and effective command.
His extensive experience in policing and investigation is seen as an asset for leading the agency amid the country’s expanding digital landscape and growing cybersecurity challenges.
According to official sources, the newly appointed DG has been tasked with formulating an urgent and comprehensive strategy to combat the surge in cybercrimes and to modernize Pakistan’s digital security mechanisms.
He has also been directed to enhance coordination among relevant institutions to ensure a more robust and responsive cyber defense framework nationwide.
