Jerusalem (Web Desk): Despite the recent ceasefire in Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the Israeli military to carry out immediate and intensive air and ground operations.
According to international media, the order came after the Israeli government accused Hamas of attacking Israeli soldiers in southern Gaza and violating procedures during the return of captives’ bodies.
A statement from Netanyahu’s office said the Prime Minister, following an emergency meeting with senior military and security officials, decided that while Israel seeks peace, it cannot remain silent in the face of security threats.
Reports from Arab and Western media indicate that the Israeli military has been instructed to conduct a “swift and powerful retaliatory response,” raising the risk of large-scale bombardment in Gaza once again.
The ceasefire agreement, reached in early October 2025, has already been marred by repeated accusations of violations from both sides.
Analysts warn that Netanyahu’s latest decision could further deteriorate the humanitarian situation in Gaza and negatively impact regional peace efforts.
