California (Web Desk): Google has issued a warning that the rapid progress in quantum computing could pose serious global cybersecurity challenges in the coming years.

According to the company, once quantum computers become fully operational at scale, they may have the capability to break traditional cryptographic systems currently used to secure data across the internet.

Google cautioned that sensitive information—such as financial data, personal communications, and other confidential records—could be at significant risk in the future if timely security measures are not implemented.

To address these concerns, the company emphasized the urgent need to transition toward “post-quantum cryptography,” which involves adopting advanced encryption methods designed to withstand potential threats from quantum computing.

Furthermore, Google has urged technology firms, financial institutions, and governments to begin upgrading their security infrastructures now, ensuring they are aligned with future requirements and capable of safeguarding data effectively.

Experts note that while quantum technology holds immense potential, it also introduces complex and evolving data security challenges that will require coordinated global efforts to manage.
