Washington (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has adopted a tough stance on Iran, saying that Washington will not allow Tehran to continue violating agreements.
In a telephone interview with Fox News, Trump said his priority remains resolving the issue with Iran through negotiations and a possible agreement. However, he warned that if no deal is reached, the United States would move forward with what he described as completing its “mission.”
The US president said he would prefer not to target Iran’s energy infrastructure, power plants, and bridges, but claimed that America holds a very strong position compared to Tehran.
Trump further claimed that Iran had agreed not to pursue nuclear weapons. He also stated that control of the Strait of Hormuz lies with the United States, not Iran.
During the interview, Trump also said that if he had not been elected president of the United States, Israel would not exist today.
