Gaza (Web Desk): The humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached a critical level, as severe food shortages and starvation continue to claim lives.
In the past 24 hours alone, six more Palestinians have died due to hunger. Among the most heartbreaking cases is that of a five-month-old baby girl, Zainab Abu Halib, who passed away due to lack of adequate nutrition.
In response to the worsening crisis, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) launched a joint humanitarian operation, airdropping 25 tons of relief supplies to areas in Gaza that are inaccessible by land. The aid included food and medical supplies, dropped over regions severely affected by the Israeli blockade.
Facing mounting international pressure, Israel has announced a daily pause in military operations in select parts of Gaza—from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM—and a secure corridor for humanitarian aid from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. This measure came into effect on Monday.
The announcement followed strong protests from 25 countries, including the UK, France, and Canada, urging Israel to ensure humanitarian access and to prioritize aid delivery above military or political agendas.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Red Crescent has dispatched 100 aid trucks carrying 1,200 metric tons of food to southern Gaza. However, in the Khan Younis area, several trucks were reportedly looted—highlighting not only a breakdown in security but also the dangers of aid distribution in conflict zones.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed that the military campaign would continue "until complete victory," while Hamas dismissed Israel’s ceasefire gesture as “deception and fraud.”
Currently, millions in Gaza are struggling to access food, water, and medical assistance. Disturbing reports have also emerged of Israeli forces opening fire on civilians waiting in aid lines, with at least 17 Palestinians reportedly killed in a recent incident.
