Karachi (Staff Report): Muhammad Zubair Umar on Saturday resigned from his position as Sindh Governor.
Zubair, who is brother of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Umar, had been appointed the 32nd Governor of Sindh in February 2017.
According to Muhammad Zubair, he has sent his resignation to President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain.
During the former PML-N government, Muhammad Zubair also served as chairman of the Privatisation Commission of Pakistan from 2013 to 2017.
According to sources, Zubair tendered his resignation after the reports that the upcoming government of the PTI decided to change the governors in the provinces.
The Election Commission on Saturday announced complete provisional results of the general election held in the country on July 25.
As per details, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has emerged as the single largest party in the center bagging 115 National Assembly (NA).
