Islamabad (Web Desk): Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary on Wednesday rejected allegations made by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, clarifying that the federal government is not conducting any covert operations in the Tirah valley emphasising that any decision regarding operations would be made public.
In a televised statement, Chaudhry also accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) provincial government of serious financial irregularities in the development funds allocated for the Tirah Valley.
He said that all operations from Karachi to Gilgit are being carried out under the National Action Plan (NAP).
Targeting the KP’s provincial government, Talal alleged that the criticism of the Tirah Valley operation is purely political, aimed at concealing their own failures.
The minister claimed that more than half of the Rs4 billion allocated for Tirah Valley had been diverted to unrelated projects.
Drawing a parallel with the Kohistan scandal, where Rs4 billion surfaced in a truck driver’s account, he warned that the truth about Tirah Valley would also come to light soon.
Chaudhry said that the substantial funds could no longer be hidden and that accountability would be demanded.
He further that PTI repeatedly crafts new narratives to cover up its corruption, but the era of hiding behind slogans has come to an end.
The state minister added that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is currently investigating all related financial matters.
