New York: Commenting on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Munir Akram said that Modi's speech was contrary to the reality of a divided, brutal and economically failed India.

Manir Akram said that Modi tried to draw the attention of the international community to the global issues but he failed to do so, as he remained silent on Kashmir, the Middle East and climate change issues.

Earlier Munir Akram said that India had been threatening small countries over Kashmir issue, however every country knew the miserable condition of Kashmiri people.

Munir Akram said that Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi rightly objected the credibility of the UN.

In his statement, Munir Akram said unfortunately India had been propagating against Pakistan’s efforts for peace in the region. “India is constantly ignoring UN charter and violating international law regarding human rights particularly in Kashmir.

On September 23, Munir Akram said that Pakistan was indebted to Recep Tayyip Erdogan for boldly supporting Islamabad’s stance regarding Kashmir issue.

“Pakistan supports President Erdogan’s bold statement on global issues at the UN General Assembly and his clear support for Jammu and Kashmir.” Akram tweeted.

He said Pakistan also backed Erdogan’s demand of declaring 15 March as world solidarity day against Islamophobia.
