Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, who is on an official visit to Bangladesh, held separate meetings with Chief Advisor of Bangladesh Muhammad Yunus, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, and Principal Staff Officer (PSO) Armed Forces Division Lieutenant General S. M. Kamrul Hassan, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), detailed discussions were held on the evolving global and regional security situation, with both sides recognizing the importance of enhancing bilateral defence and security cooperation.
The CJCSC reaffirmed Pakistan’s appreciation for its enduring fraternal relations with Bangladesh and emphasized the shared resolve to strengthen ties based on mutual respect and sovereign equality.
The two sides expressed optimism about expanding defence collaboration and reiterated their commitment to deepen military-to-military engagements and related initiatives.
During his visit, the CJCSC also visited the School of Infantry and Tactics in Sylhet, where he interacted with faculty members and students.
The Bangladeshi civil and military leadership commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, upon his arrival at Senakunjo, General Mirza was presented with a Guard of Honour by a well-turned-out contingent and laid a wreath at Shikha Anirban to pay tribute to the martyrs.
