NAB team visits Adiala jail to probe Imran Khan in £190m case

Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi team on Sunday visited Adiala jail to investigate Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in Al-Qadir University Trust cases.

According to sources, four different teams separately interrogated the former prime minister for over two hours. The teams grilled him about different documents and asked him various questions, the sources added.

Officials from the anti-graft watchdog have been visiting Adiala Jail since Nov 15 to investigate the former premier’s role in the case.

Mr Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are accused of obtaining billions of rupees and hundreds of kanals of land.

The case relates to the alleged illegal acquisition of land for and construction of Al Qadir University involving unlawful benefit given in the recovery of prime proceeds (140m pounds) through the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) in a money laundering case against real estate tycoon.

Imran Khan is also accused of misleading the cabinet by concealing the facts related to the settlement agreement.

Khan is scheduled to appear in the special court at the Federal Judicial Complex on Tuesday for a hearing of cipher case.
