Waqar Younis rings five-minute bell at Lord’s before day-three of EngVsPak

London (Web Desk): Former Pakistan star Waqar Younis rang the five-minute bell before the third day of England’s Test Match against Pakistan at Lord’s, Lord’s.org reported.

According to details, Waqar, who is currently commentating on the NatWest Test Series for BBC Test Match Special, is regarded as one of Pakistan’s greatest ever bowlers, forming a potent pace partnership with Wasim Akram, one of the most fearsome bowling duos in the history of the game.

He took 789 wickets in all for his country, 373 of them coming in his 87 Test matches, whilst the other 416 came in white-ball cricket, as he played in 262 One-Day Internationals for Pakistan.

It is a tradition started in 2007 in Lord’s where any cricketer, administrator or any prominent personality of cricket field rings the bell hanged outside the Bowlers’ Bar in the Lord’s Pavilion before the play gets start. This time honour granted to Pakistani cricket star Waqar Younis on third day of test of Lord’s EngVsPak.

 It is pertinent to remember that its fourth day of Pakistan – England test where England team leads with 56 runs in second innings.
