Islamabad (Web Desk/Agencies): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his dedication to equipping Pakistan's youth with cutting-edge technological skills, underlining the critical role they will play in the nation's development and success.
Addressing the launching ceremony of PM Digital Youth Hub, he assured that the government would allocate the necessary resources to ensure that young people receive the best possible training opportunities, empowering them to contribute positively to society.
Reflecting on his past initiatives, PM Shehbaz recalled his time as Chief Minister of Punjab, where he had distributed 400,000 laptops to outstanding students in schools and colleges.
He noted that this was part of his broader vision to invest in the future of Pakistan by fostering a knowledgeable and skilled youth.
PM Shehbaz acknowledged that while the youth of Pakistan present certain challenges, they also represent a tremendous opportunity.
“With the right training in modern technologies like Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI), youth can play a significant role in advancing Pakistan’s economic prosperity” the premier said, expressing his confidence that if the youth are provided with the right opportunities, they can help position Pakistan as one of the world’s leading economies.
PM Shehbaz made clear that the government would prioritize youth development by directing resources toward their education and training, even if it meant reducing spending in other areas.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s youth are its greatest asset, and the government is committed to nurturing this asset by providing them with state-of-the-art technological tools.
PM Shehbaz said that productive employment of youth is main target of the government through this portal.
The premier expressed his firm commitment to fight for the rights of youth, provision of education and modern training in collaboration with all the provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Touching on the economic situation, PM Shehbaz spoke about the recent staff-level agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which had stabilized the country’s economy.
However, he acknowledged that the country must eventually free itself from reliance on loans, and he encouraged the youth to play an active role in this effort.
The prime minister also highlighted recent positive developments in the national economy, including the collection of Rs34 billion in tax revenue over the past three weeks, thanks to the government's efforts in speeding up tax cases that had been pending for years.
