SC dismisses PTI petitions, making party ineligible for reserved seats

Islamabad (Web Desk): The Supreme Court's constitutional bench has approved review petitions on reserved seats by a majority of six to seven, resulting in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) losing its reserved seats. Justice Aminuddin Khan delivered the verdict.

The court upheld the Peshawar High Court’s decision, which had annulled the allocation of reserved seats for women and minorities to PTI. The Supreme Court also invalidated its earlier judgment dated July 12.

According to this verdict, the reserved seats will be allocated to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), and other parties.

This decision is expected to have significant implications on the country's political landscape.
