California (Web Desk): The Sikh for Justice organization has unveiled a map of a proposed region called "Trump Land", designed as a safe haven for Christians in northeastern India. According to the group, this area is located in the Seven Sister States, where the Christian population is predominantly local and historically distinct from the rest of India.
The group’s leader, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, appealed to U.S. President Donald Trump to intervene and highlighted the threats faced by Christian and Sikh minorities in India due to organized violence and state policies that have put them in grave danger.
The Seven Sister States refer to a group of seven northeastern states in India—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. These states are home to a significant number of Christian communities who have historically maintained their cultural and religious identities separate from the rest of the predominantly Hindu nation. The proposed "Trump Land" aims to provide protection and safety for these vulnerable populations.
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun raised concerns over the rising violence against minorities in India, especially Christians and Sikhs, pointing to incidents of targeted violence and state-sponsored discrimination. He urged President Trump to step in and offer support to these communities, ensuring their safety and protection. Pannun's appeal highlights the increasing religious and political tension in India, where various minority groups have expressed fears about their future under current policies.
