Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 1,144,341 on Friday after 4,016 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.
Overall 427,037 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 386,578 in Punjab, 159,483 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 32,014 in Balochistan, 97,956 in Islamabad 9,795 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 31,478 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 62,496 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 6.42%.
According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 25,320 with 85 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.
Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,026,082 after another 3,235 virus recoveries were reported.
Meanwhile, the United States US on Thursday provided about 3.7 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine to Pakistan through the COVAX facility to assist the country in vaccinating its population against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Pakistan reported 4,553 new cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours, taking the tally for confirmed cases to 1,140,411.
Moreover, the Ministry of Health Services on Friday announced that over 50 million doses of COVID-19 have been administered in the country so far.
It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 215.505 million and death toll tops 4,489,045.
