Islamabad/Washington (Web Desk): There are growing signs of easing tensions in the Middle East as Iran has put forward new proposals aimed at ending the conflict and reopening the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz for global trade.
The proposals have been conveyed to the United States through Pakistan.
According to well-placed sources, Iran has shown notable flexibility in its latest offer. It has suggested an immediate ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping.
Rather than engaging in complex nuclear negotiations right away, Tehran has proposed delaying such talks to a more suitable time, allowing peace to first take hold in the region.
Following the receipt of these proposals, the US president has called an urgent meeting of his national security and foreign policy teams to review the plan in detail. The aim is to potentially move forward with the process being facilitated by Pakistan.
During this diplomatic development, the US president once again praised the strategy of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the military leadership, acknowledging Pakistan’s key role in promoting regional peace. He described Pakistan as a responsible nuclear power.
The report further states that in a recent address, the US president repeated a surprising claim that Pakistan had shot down 11 Indian aircraft in an aerial engagement.
This statement comes at a time when Pakistan is emerging as a significant mediator on the global stage.
