Dera Ismail Khan (Web Desk): Two Rescue 1122 workers embraced martyrdom after terrorists from Fitna Al-Khawarij attacked an emergency ambulance in Dera Ismail Khan.
According to reports, the ambulance was transporting civilians wounded in an earlier blast from Darazinda to Dera Ismail Khan when it was targeted by the terrorists.
Following the attack, security forces launched an operation against the Khawarij militants, with the operation currently underway.
The incident has also been described as another serious failure of the provincial government to maintain law and order and provide safety to the public.
Earlier on Saturday, at least 12 people were martyred while several others were injured after an explosives-laden vehicle was driven into the Aman Mela police checkpoint in the Darazinda area of Dera Ismail (DI) Khan, officials said.
According to Rescue 1122, the victims included eight men, two women and a child.
Police said the blast took place at the Aman Mela checkpost, situated near Mughal Kot and Darazinda along the DI Khan-Quetta Road, close to the boundary between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
It is pertinent to mention that the Aman Mela checkpost serves as a police security and checking point along the DI Khan-Quetta route.
