Riyadh (Web Desk): Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their resolve to maintain coordinated efforts against attacks aimed at Makkah Al-Mukarramah, along with threats to civilian and economic infrastructure across the Kingdom, in line with the Makkah Agreement for Joint Defence.
The development followed an urgent meeting in Riyadh between senior military commanders from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement (MJDA).
The gathering represented the first dedicated high-level military coordination among the three nations since they signed the trilateral defence pact last month.
“Met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir. We welcomed the outcomes of the Chiefs of Staff meeting under the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement, and discussed the heinous attacks targeting the holy city of Makkah and the Kingdom’s civilian and economic infrastructure. We affirmed our continued joint efforts to confront these attacks in accordance with the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement,” Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman said in a post on his social media platform X.
