Islamabad (Web Desk): The Meteorological Department has forecasted cold and dry weather across most of the country today, with severe cold expected in mountainous areas during the morning and evening. The department also predicts fog in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially during the early morning and night hours.
The temperature in Skardu has already dropped to a low of minus 10°C, indicating severe cold conditions. Fog intensity is expected to gradually increase in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Moreover, the department anticipates a further drop in temperatures over the next few days in northern areas, both during the day and at night.
In Balochistan, thunderstorms with rain are expected to continue throughout December. The Meteorological Department forecasts powerful westerly winds to enter the region between December 6 and 10, bringing intermittent rains across the month. Areas including Zhob, Sherani, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibi, Lasbela, Awaran, Kech, Gwadar, Panjgur, Khuzdar, Quetta, Chagai, Nushki, Washuk, and Mastung may experience rain with thunder, heavy downpours, and snowfall in higher regions.
Citizens have been advised to prepare for the cold and rainy weather.
