Riyadh (Web Desk): The Saudi Arabian Royal Court has appointed Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Hamid as the country’s new Grand Mufti and head of the Senior Council of Scholars. This decision was made following the passing of the former Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah Al Sheikh.
Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Hamid was born in 1949 in Al-Bukairiyah and has been devoted to serving Islamic teachings for a long time. Since 1984, he has been serving as an Imam in the Kaaba at the Two Holy Mosques and has also delivered sermons at the Mosque of Nimrah in Arafat during Hajj.
His appointment is considered an important step in Saudi Arabia’s religious leadership, which is expected to bring further stability to the country’s jurisprudential and religious affairs.
