Lahore: The Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) on Monday detained Khawar Maneka, ex husband of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, from Allama Iqbal Airport Lahore.
According to sources Khawar Maneka was en route to Dubai when the FIA officials checked his credentials, detained him for a short while and later handed him over to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).
FIA officials said Maneka, who is a government employee in customs department, got the No Objection Certificate to proceed abroad, but was stopped due to his name in the stop list.
They added that a corruption case has been registered against Maneka by ACE. Khawar Maneka is accused of illegal construction on government land.
According to ACE sources, Khawar Farid Maneka has been illegally occupying the land of Pir Islam Graveyard Haveli Lakha for a long time. Khawar constructed 26 illegal shops on 4 kanals of graveyard land, built marriage halls without permission.
