Islamabad (Web Desk): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad has approved bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former premier Imran Khan’s sisters Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan.
Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain approved the bail plea against surety bonds of Rs20,000 each.
Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan were arrested on October 4 during a PTI protest at D-Chowk and taken to the Secretariat police station.

Their arrest came just as PTI supporters were gathering for the demonstration.

Following their detention, the court initially placed them in police custody for a one-day physical remand for further questioning.

Aleema and Uzma were presented in court after completing their one-day physical remand. The court, presided over by Judge Tahir Abbas Supra, was hearing the case registered at Kohsar Police Station under terrorism charges.

During the hearing, PTI’s attorney, Niazullah Niazi, contended that the PTI founder sisters’ arrest was unlawful since they were not presented in court until two days later.

He also pointed out that they had only received the First Information Report (FIR) via WhatsApp the day before their arrest, asserting, that this his arrest has become illegal.
