Lahore (Web Desk): The grand finale of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 is underway at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium, with Quetta Gladiators choosing to bat first after winning the toss against defending champions Lahore Qalandars.
This decisive match will crown the 2025 PSL champion, with the winners set to take home a $500,000 prize, while the runners-up will pocket $200,000. For Quetta, this marks a golden opportunity to reclaim the trophy for the first time since their 2019 title win. Lahore, on the other hand, are eyeing a third championship, which would place them among the league’s most successful franchises.
Led by Saud Shakeel, Quetta have had a remarkable turnaround this season, finishing top of the table with seven victories, two defeats, and one no-result. Their place in the final was secured following a commanding 30-run victory over Islamabad United in the Qualifier.
Lahore Qalandars, captained by star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, endured a turbulent campaign. They narrowly made it to the playoffs by finishing fourth but hit form at the right time, defeating both Karachi Kings and Islamabad United in the Eliminator rounds to book a spot in their third final in four years.
Adding to the significance of the night, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has organized a tribute to the Pakistan Navy during the mid-innings break. This is part of a broader recognition of the armed forces, following earlier honors given to the Army and Air Force during the tournament, celebrating their contributions in Operation Bunayn-um-Marsoos amidst recent regional tensions.
As the stadium fills with anticipation, cricket fans across the country are eager to see which team will write their name into PSL history.
