Sharing personal information on phone is unsafe: FIA warns

Islamabad (Web Desk): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has warned people from sharing their personal information to anyone on phone calls in order to avoid financial losses.

According to details, FIA’s Cyber Crime Cell issued an alert saying that some miscreants impersonating as officials of armed forces or banks make calls to citizens and seek personal information like CNIC number bank details on the pretext of data verification and prize scheme.

The FIA has advised the people not to attend calls from unknown numbers and share the details as such mistake could cause a financial loss.

Earlier, Major general Asif Ghafoor, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISRP), has warned social media users that they should not be deceived by hackers misusing his name through malicious emails.
