New Delhi / Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan’s recent balanced and forward-looking foreign policy has stirred strong reactions within Indian political circles.
Senior Indian politician and Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor, along with prominent Indian publications, has acknowledged that the Modi government’s policy of isolating Pakistan has largely failed, while Islamabad is increasingly becoming a focal point of global diplomacy.
Speaking on the evolving geopolitical situation, Shashi Tharoor criticized the Indian government’s foreign policy approach, stating that Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement has, in current circumstances, become far more effective and robust compared to India’s.
He noted that Pakistan is demonstrating one of the most successful phases of diplomacy in its history, strengthening its global standing.
Tharoor further highlighted that the growing strategic alignment between China, Russia, and Pakistan poses a significant diplomatic challenge for India. In contrast, he suggested that India appears to be facing difficulties in maintaining its influence on the global stage.
Meanwhile, an analysis published by The Wire criticized the Modi government’s foreign policy, revealing that United States has increasingly recognized Pakistan’s importance in the Middle East and regional peace efforts.
The report indicated that Washington is placing greater strategic trust in Islamabad over New Delhi in key matters.
Additionally, Pakistan is emerging as a key mediator between the United States and Iran, further enhancing its diplomatic relevance. Analysts believe this development has diminished India’s strategic weight in regional affairs and reflects a shifting balance in international diplomacy.
