Cholpon-Ata (Web Desk): Pakistan and Tajikistan have agreed to broaden their bilateral partnership by stepping up collaboration in key sectors, including trade, investment, regional connectivity, energy, cultural cooperation, and people-to-people engagement.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.
During the discussions, both leaders reaffirmed the deep-rooted friendship and close relations shared by the two countries. They also highlighted the importance of maintaining regular high-level interactions to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation.
Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin reiterated Tajikistan’s backing for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to foster regional peace, ensure stability, and encourage the peaceful settlement of regional issues.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on major regional and international developments, with both sides stressing the need for enhanced coordination at multilateral platforms to promote lasting peace, stability, and shared prosperity.
