Nikah during Iddat case: IHC extends stay on proceedings till January 31

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday extended its stay order for halting recording the statements of witnesses in Nikah during iddat case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi till January 31.

The single bench presided over by IHC Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamer Farooq took conducted the hearing of the case.

Usman Riaz Gul and others appeared in the court on behalf of Founder PTI Imran Khan. 
In his remarks, the IHC CJ said if Suleman Akram Raja is not there then we fix this case for next week.

Khawar Farid Monika’s counsel Rizwan Abbasi requested the court to set aside the stay on it. 
“If stay is not abolished then the hearing be adjourned till tomorrow,” he added.

At this, Justice Aamer Farooq remarked that there is no need of any haste. “We take it to next week,” he added.

The court rejected Abbasi's plea for setting aside the stay and adjourned the hearing till January 31.
