Moscow records coldest night of the winter with temperature dropping to -15.7°C

Moscow (Web Desk): On the night between December 23 and 24, temperatures in Moscow plummeted to -15.7°C, marking it as the coldest night of the current winter season, according to meteorologists. According to reports from global media, the Russian Hydrometeorological Center recorded a minimum temperature of -10.7°C on the night between December 22 and 23.

Experts have stated that while temperatures are expected to rise in Moscow following this cold spell, the cold intensified even further on December 24. Interestingly, the coldest temperature ever recorded in Moscow was in 1892, when the mercury dropped to -37.3°C.

The warmest December on record in Moscow was in 2015, when the minimum temperature remained at 9°C. Despite the extreme cold this season, the residents of Moscow are braving the winter and are well-prepared to cope with the chill.
