Islamabad (Web Desk): In a continued show of solidarity with the people of Gaza, Pakistan has dispatched another relief flight from Lahore, adding to the country’s ongoing humanitarian efforts.
The latest aircraft, carrying 100 tonnes of aid, departed from Allama Iqbal International Airport under the direction of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. This marks the 21st consignment sent by Pakistan, bringing the total volume of assistance to 2,027 tonnes.
The shipment includes a mix of essential food supplies such as ration bags, ready-to-eat meals, and canned fruit, specifically prepared to meet the urgent nutritional needs of those affected in Gaza.
The operation is part of a larger initiative coordinated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), which recently delivered an additional 412 tonnes of aid across five separate flights as part of its latest phase of relief work.
Earlier efforts included a consignment of 100 tonnes sent from Lahore on August 23, as well as a smaller shipment of 12 tonnes that departed from Islamabad.
These efforts underscore Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian people during a time of severe crisis.
At the departure ceremony in Lahore, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, attended as the special guest. He was joined by several government officials and senior NDMA personnel, who reiterated Pakistan’s pledge to continue delivering assistance where it is most needed.
