Lahore (Web Desk): Defending champions Lahore Qalandars defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 6 wickets in a thrilling PSL 11 encounter.

The match was played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, where Lahore Qalandars won the toss and opted to field first.

Batting first, Peshawar Zalmi posted 199 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Michael Bracewell top-scored with 83 runs, while Babar Azam contributed a solid 59 runs.

Chasing a target of 200, Lahore Qalandars reached the total in the final over, putting on a strong batting display. Fakhar Zaman remained unbeaten on 58 runs, while Daniel Sams scored 35 not out.

This defeat marked Peshawar Zalmi’s first loss in PSL 11. Following Lahore Qalandars’ victory, Karachi Kings were officially eliminated from the playoff race.

Lahore Qalandars have now moved to fourth place on the points table, while Hyderabad Kingsmen remain in contention for a playoff spot. Hyderabad Kingsmen must defeat Rawalpindis in their next match to stay in the race.

To improve their net run rate, Hyderabad Kingsmen would need to beat Lahore Qalandars by 84 runs or chase the target within 9.5 overs if batting second.
