Rawalpindi (Web Desk): The security forces killed six terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, the military’s media wing said on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on night od April 23/24, 2025, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bannu District on reported presence of Khwarij.
“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, six khwarij were sent to hell, while four khawrij got injured,” the statement said.
The military's media wing said that the sanitization operation was being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area.
“The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have paid tribute to security forces for killing six Khwarij in Bannu operation.
In their separate statements, they lauded the professional capabilities of security forces and vowed to continue the war against terrorism till complete eradication of the menace.

He appreciated the bravery of security forces for killing the terrorists of Fitna al-Khawarij during the IBO.
The president said that the security forces were carrying out operations for eradicating terrorism.
“The whole nation stand with the security forces in the fight against terrorism,” he added.
President Zardari reiterated the determination to completely wipe out Fitna al-Khawarij from the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for eliminating six Khawarij during an operation in Bannu.
He appreciated the professional capabilities of personnel of security forces.
The premier said that the government would continue to foil the heinous designs of the terrorists, who were the enemies of humanity.
“Our war against terrorists will continue till the complete elimination of terrorism from the country,” PM Shehbaz added.
