Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding fraternal relations and expanding cooperation with the Maldives.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Speaker of the Maldivian Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdullah visited General Headquarters (GHQ), where he held a meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The meeting covered regional security matters as well as various aspects of bilateral relations and cooperation between Pakistan and the Maldives.
Field Marshal Asim Munir said Pakistan attaches great importance to its friendly ties with the Maldives and remains committed to deepening bilateral engagement. He said cooperation between the two countries would be further expanded in areas of mutual interest.
According to ISPR, the Maldivian Speaker appreciated Pakistan’s constructive contribution towards regional peace and stability.
He also expressed a desire to further strengthen bilateral relations and broaden cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier, Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdullah visited the National Assembly, where he was received by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
During the visit, a meeting was also held between the Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights of the National Assembly of Pakistan and the Maldivian parliamentary delegation.
Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Daniyal Chaudhary chaired the meeting.
