California (Web Desk): Popular messaging platform WhatsApp has introduced a new in-app translation feature aimed at making communication easier and more efficient for users across different languages. With this new feature, users will be able to translate messages directly within the app, eliminating the need to switch to external translation tools or apps.

The translation tool has been rolled out for Android and iOS devices in 180 countries, allowing users to understand and respond to messages in various languages in real time.

Android users will be able to translate messages in English, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic, while iOS users will have access to 19 languages through Apple Translate integration.

To use the feature, Android users can simply long-press a message, tap on the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, select "Translate", and then choose the preferred language. Android users will also have the option to enable automatic translation for specific contacts, which will automatically translate all future messages from that contact.

The same steps apply for iPhone users, though the automatic translation feature is not available on iOS devices.

WhatsApp has confirmed that the feature works in one-on-one chats, group conversations, and channel updates. However, it is not currently supported on WhatsApp Web or the Windows version.

According to WhatsApp, the rollout of this feature has already begun and will soon be available to all users worldwide, making multilingual communication smoother and more accessible than ever before.
