Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif Friday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
According to sources, both the leaders discussed Pak-Iran bilateral ties, border security issues and the recent tension in Iran-US tension.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was also present on the occasion.
Earlier, speaking at delegation-level talks between Pakistan and Iran in the capital, Qureshi said Pakistan would continue its reconciliatory efforts for ensuring peace and stability and reducing tension in the region. He said, “Pakistan wants resolution of all outstanding issues through diplomatic engagement.”
Iranian FM Zarif said, “Tehran gives value to Islamabad’s efforts for establishing peace in the region.”
Zarif who arrived in Islamabad late Thursday on a two-day visit also meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and is expected to meet top brass of civil-military leadership of the country later in the day.
