Pakistan ready to host meaningful US-Iran talks to end ongoing regional conflict: PM Shehbaz

Islamabad (Web Desk): On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif affirmed that, “subject to concurrence by the US and Iran, ‘Pakistan stands ready and honoured to be the host to facilitate meaningful and conclusive talks for a comprehensive settlement of the ongoing conflict.”

Through his X account, he highlighted that Pakistan welcomed and fully supported the ongoing initiatives aimed at pursuing dialogue to end the Middle East war, emphasizing the importance of peace and stability both regionally and globally.

Meanwhile, Foreign Office (FO), Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi also reiterated that Islamabad is “already ready to host talks” between Iran and the United States.

Addressing the US broadcaster CNN on Monday night, he stated, “If both sides agree, Pakistan is always ready to host talks.”

In a separate discussion with an English newspaper on Tuesday, the spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to resolving the conflict through diplomatic channels and engagement, in line with the country’s longstanding foreign policy.

“Pakistan, consistent with its longstanding policy, remains committed to the resolution of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East/Persian Gulf through diplomatic means and engagements,” he was quoted as saying.
