Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said Pakistan's successful diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran have strengthened its image as a peace-maker and a provider of regional security.

Addressing the National Assembly on Thursday, he said Pakistan played the role of a sincere and impartial mediator, helping facilitate dialogue between Washington and Tehran at a critical time. He noted that these efforts contributed to preventing a major escalation and helped save countless lives.

The deputy prime minister elaborated on Pakistan's diplomatic engagement aimed at promoting peace, including its role in facilitating negotiations held in Switzerland.

He praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their leadership and contributions to the peace process.

Ishaq Dar said the positive impact of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding is now becoming visible, particularly through emerging economic benefits. He pointed to the reduction in petroleum prices as one of the encouraging outcomes following the agreement.

He reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to supporting dialogue, diplomacy and peaceful conflict resolution in pursuit of regional stability and prosperity.
