Tehran/Tel Aviv (Web Desk/Agencies): US President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that both Israel and Iran violated the recently brokered ceasefire agreement and further claimed that Iran's nuclear program had been eliminated amid the latest round of hostilities.
Speaking to reporters before departing for the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump said, “Both sides broke the ceasefire,” referencing the truce that had been announced just hours earlier and was confirmed by both governments.
While he did not clarify which party initiated the breach, he expressed disapproval of Israel's actions, saying, “I didn’t like that Israel unloaded right after we agreed to a ceasefire.”
The situation follows a series of conflicting reports from both Tel Aviv and Tehran over who was responsible for initiating strikes after the truce was declared.
According to Israeli authorities, Iran launched ballistic missiles toward Israeli territory shortly after the ceasefire took effect. Iran, however, rejected the accusation and claimed that Israel had continued its military strikes for over an hour after the agreement was supposed to begin.
Trump, who has taken credit for negotiating the ceasefire, also made bold assertions regarding Iran’s nuclear capabilities. “Iran will never rebuild its nuclear program,” he said.
“Their nuclear capacities are gone.” The remarks were made without presenting evidence or official verification from international monitoring agencies.
Earlier in the day, Iran’s armed forces accused Israel of conducting three separate waves of attacks on Iranian territory, despite the announcement of the ceasefire.
A spokesman for Iran’s armed forces, speaking on state television, stated that the Zionist regime continued its aggression until 9 a.m. local time (10:30 a.m. Pakistan Standard Time), although further details about the attacks were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media, including IRIB and the ISNA news agency, reiterated the government's position that no missiles were launched at Israel following the truce.
These denials, reported by Al Jazeera, directly contradict Israel’s claims and reflect the ongoing dispute over the sequence of events following the ceasefire.
